Comment: I went to high school with Jon for a couple of years. I remember how he loved to play basketball, and he was good at it. He was funny, sweet and all the girls loved him. But what sticks out in my mind the most is how when I was a new student there he treated so nicely. People who remember me remember that I didn't quite "fit in". I sure was a headache for Pastor lol. There was more than one occasion when I was sad about not fitting in and was crying that Jon sat and talked with me and made me laugh until I forgot why i was crying. Thank you Jon for those times. Comment: In this day and age people look up to different people as role models and heroes. We as society look up to sports figures making millions of dollars or movie stars or politicians. The fact is that the true heroes and role models are those who are around us everyday. Itís people like Jon. I know over the past 6 years when times have been tough for me I would say WWJD (What Would Jon Do) When things I had going on in my life never seemed to go right I would ask myself WWJD (What Would Jon Do). Then I would put a smile on my face, pray about it and except what god had in store for me. Itís funny how you have the famed acronym of WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) but you could easily put Jon in there as well for he exemplified true spiritual strength to his life everyday. We measure things in this life on money, possessions, popularity and so forth. The American dream is to one day win the lottery. But non-of this matters to God when we get to Heaven. With talking to Jon after the accident and hearing about how faithful and spiritual he was if you ask me he was winning the (Spiritual) lottery everyday. Now he has more treasures in heaven than he knows what to do with. I only hope that when I get to heaven he can float me a treasure loan. Someday I pray that I can be as faithful as Jon. He went through so many trials and tribulation like all the great people we read about in the Bible yet he never lost hope. I know Jon will be truly missed. He had one of those personalities that people remember and gravitate to. Jon, you truly are a Hero of mine.

Comment: We met Jon when we had our son in the hospital at St. Louis. They shared the same OT and we visited with Jon while we were waiting for Cas's turn. We were drawn to Jon. He had such a sweet spirit....it just emanated from his entire being. Even though we met only the one time we kept in contact and always felt a special connection with Jon and his parents. We will miss Jon but rejoice that he is now dancing with our Lord!

Comment: I never really got the chance to know, Jon, very well until these last couple of years. I remember first talking to him during the GO M.A.D. youth rally practices. We sat in the church and talked about art, and traveling. We both really wanted to go to N.Y. city one day, and I know we had several conversations about places we both would love to go. I will never forget my b-day last year when he went with my parents and I to St. Louis Mills. I have never laughed so much in my whole life. He had the greatest sense of humor! We spent almost an hour in one store, looking at this jacket that he had to have. He also had a cool sense of style :) I didn't get to spend time like that with him as much as I would have liked, but I hope he knew how much I cared about him, and how much I loved having him as a friend. He will always have a place in my heart, and I can't wait to see him again. Jon and I both loved music, and I remember singing with him, in his classroom, while my mom and I helped him hang Christmas lights. We always ended up singing this crazy song about doorbells, which I never understood, but if he sang it once, he sang it a hundred times! Those are just a few of my favorite memories of Jon. I miss you, Jon!

Comment: Jon, Jonny boy, clone klondike, clo man... the list goes on and on. Every name we had for each other has a story, a memory a smile. It will be nice to sit down and talk again like we always did, tho it seems like light years since those days. Every memory that I have of growing up, has Jon in it. Every song that I hear or sing, I think of him. That really don't make me sad, because remembering him in all his strange ways, thinking of his viewpoint on any topic, remembering that he could argue anybody under the table, makes me laugh. Jon, I miss you buddy. Jon loved this line. " one day, I am going to grow wings" Thom york

Comment: This sounds like Jon.... "I'M FREE" Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work, or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much: Good Friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now, He set me free. Author unknown With our heartfelt Sympathy, The Hamilton's Jack, Regina, & Ben

Comment: I'm so sorry to hear about Jon's passing. I talked with Mrs. Reynolds when they were trying to help Jon file for disability benefits thru Social Security. She was such a sweetheart & so positive on his recovery. I tried to answer as many of her questions as I could because I also have a spinal cord injury that happened 20 years ago today. I truly know how much family support can make a difference in someone's recovery. In fact, my Mom was just talking yesterday about sleeping in the floor with her head resting on a chair next to my bed after my accident. God bless Jon and his family, my prayers are with you.

Comment: We are so sorry to hear of Jon's passing. Though we never met Jon, we grieve with all for his leaving us here for a much better place. Won't it be great to finally get to meet Jon & others in Heaven!! Though he was not on this earth for a great while, like some of us, what he did while he was here amounts to a lot, because The Lord God Almighty said, "Come on Home, Jon! Your work on earth is finished. Well done!"

Comment: Jon was more than a brother to me...he was my friend and confidant. I was privileged to work with Jon every day at school and to see him deal with his physical disability with such grace. Jon was a wonderful teacher and loved all of his students very much. He will be greatly missed and will be a part of our lives for ever. The past six years since his accident were tough for him, but Jon is now running and leaping along the streets of gold. We can't wait to see him again one day. We love you!
